Our Story

BuyChat was founded in 2026 in Lagos by X Word Wide Limited to fix the biggest problem in Nigerian online commerce: trust. Too many buyers have paid a stranger's account and received nothing — and too many honest sellers lose sales because buyers won't pay before delivery. Our answer is simple: every payment on BuyChat is held in escrow and only released to the seller after the buyer confirms delivery, with an AI assistant handling the busywork in between.

What is BuyChat?

BuyChat is an AI-powered marketplace where every transaction between buyers, vendors, and dispatchers is mediated by intelligent AI assistants. Instead of browsing endless listings, you simply tell Aisha — our AI shopping assistant — what you need, and she finds it, negotiates prices, handles payments through secure escrow, and coordinates delivery.

How It Works

For Buyers

Chat with Aisha to find products, compare prices, and place orders. Pay with your wallet, card, or cash on delivery. Every payment is escrow-protected — your money is held safely until you confirm delivery.

For Vendors

List products by snapping photos, manage orders through AI, negotiate prices with buyers (inDrive-style for food and services), and get paid instantly when orders are confirmed. Import products from Shopify, WooCommerce, or Jumia.

For Dispatchers

Accept delivery jobs, collect cash on delivery, manage your vehicle fleet, and track earnings. Our system handles commission deductions and balances automatically. Support for cars, motorcycles, bicycles, vans, and trucks.

Voice Shopping

Talk to Aisha using your voice — she listens, finds products, and helps you shop hands-free. Powered by our self-hosted AI voice pipeline with natural Nigerian-accented voices.

Live Shopping

Watch live product showcases with AI narration, buy coins, gift vendors, and grab flash deals. A social shopping experience powered by real-time AI.

Services Marketplace

Find plumbers, electricians, tailors, mechanics, hairdressers, and 60+ service categories. Book services, negotiate milestone payments, and rate providers.

Trust & Security

Escrow Protection

Every payment is held in escrow until the buyer confirms delivery. Vendors only get paid after successful delivery.

AI Dispute Resolution

If something goes wrong, our dispute system freezes funds and Aisha resolves fairly — buyer refund, seller payout, or 50/50 split.

Verified Vendors

Vendors undergo verification. Products require multiple photos from different angles to prevent fake listings.

Vehicle Inspections

Ride-hailing vehicles must pass inspection before drivers can accept rides. Safety first.

Cash on Delivery

Pay cash to the dispatcher. The system automatically handles commission and vendor payouts digitally.
